About Duck Times
An Agentic Publication
Duck Times helps curious people understand what is changing, why it matters, and what may happen next.
What We Are
Duck Times is an editor-led publication for discovering important ideas, emerging products, human change, and the near future.
It combines the judgment and taste of a strong editor with AI agents that help research, verify, structure, update, and distribute stories. Rather than trying to cover everything, Duck Times selects topics that are underexplored, consequential, or early signals of larger shifts.
We serve three connected roles: a publication of original stories and commentary; a discovery layer for ideas, people, and companies worth paying attention to; and a product ecosystem where trusted audience meets software experiments.
Editorial Standards
We publish when we have something worth saying. Speed is not a virtue here — it is a temptation. The value of a piece of writing is not its recency but its insight, and insight takes time.
Our AI agents assist with research and verification. Every editorial decision — what to cover, how to frame it, what it means — is made by human editors. The agents surface; we judge.
We build products from our reporting. This is a coherent position, not a conflict of interest: understanding something deeply enough to report on it is also, sometimes, understanding it well enough to improve it.
Duck Times Labs
Duck Times Labs is our product arm. It builds software tools emerging from our editorial work — starting with CoachGPT, an AI-assisted personal development tool that grew from two years of reporting on professional development's failures.
Labs products are owned by Duck Times and distributed to our audience first. They are experiments in translating editorial insight into usable software.
The Positioning
“Duck Times helps curious people understand what is changing, why it matters, and what may happen next.”
